Who are you competing with?

I remember once my instructor told me...CLIMBING is about challenging yourself on the wall and conquering the route. I also heard the same phrase many times from those who showed great passion in the sport. I too am the same and i climb to challenge myself on the wall, Numerous times i got stuck at the starting point but I study the move until i got it...even it is only completing the starting of the route..:) I often wonder why a climber felt threaten by other climber when the challenge itself lay in the routes that need to be climbed. We are born with different shape and sizes and we train and mould ourselves to be a good climber based on our shape and sizes. Some may have slender body, long limbs while some are petite. Ever realise that certain moves that one climber does, others could not do? why is that so? I can't give the solution to these riddles you have to look for it yourself. Do not try to stess yourself by thinking about other climber. Your focus should be on the wall....if you have train enough surely you know how to handle the route.

Teknik or Technique

Do you have it? Are you born with it or you train hard for it. Coincidently teknik is a malay word for technique...but it got nothing to do whether you have it or not. I was told by someone that whether you think you have learn enough there are always new things that comes your way. New challenges require new techniques...I've seen how climbing evolve over the years....the holds, the walls... they change to provide new challenges for climbers. Are you ready to accept this new challenges? I remember the first time I started climbing I went to the nearest bookstore and grabbed myself a book on climbing...in theory, yes i understand the moves...but in practical i fell flat on the mat. Back then jugs are my fav. Then it get smaller in sizes to crimps...I can still endure crimps and jugs...but sloper...i give up. I could never muster the technique to hold a sloper hold...gosh its like they hate me to the core. I look at it and my hands becomes numbs...yes, the others encourages me...but this brain of mind totally lock the information `Say No to Sloper'....dang! Plus those heel hook, and mantling...i think, allow me to shed some part of me before i can even try that! To young climbers....get yourself a good guidance from experience climbers...never give up to learn and practise new techniques....cause you will never know what in store for you in the future....<3 Adakah anda mempunyai? <3

ending 2011 with a bang!

It the 1st day of 2012 and 2011 was only yesterday. For us it ends with a bang when the Kedah team won the national team climbing challenge at Putrajaya Climbing Park. Wishing for more wins and a good year ahead. I hope that all of us will not let our climbing passion dies with age. After all age is just a number. Lets bygone be bygone, create a new chapter and a new mission. Build new frienships and strengthen the old one.
Be happy and stay healthy..have fun exploring new routes and new techniques...There are more to learn that we know it. Well, maybe this time around i will not be a bystander anymore.... new year, new book.....perhaps new climbing shoes too... Cheers everyone and happy new year.

New wall to welcome 2012

To welcome the new year, we decide to change the face of our bouldering wall. Nothing fancy just re-use whatever materials that we have...walla!! a new wall. Yeah, I am still looking at it contemplating when I should make my first ascend. I can feel the wobbling of the excess baggage just around the mid area....:) We welcome anyone to try the wall. Lets have some fun bending the unbended limbs shall we... Cheers!!!!
